UCU members have backed strike action in two separate legal disputes, one on pensions and one on pay, casualisation, equality and workloads.
UCU have given Universities notice of 8 consecutive days of strike action between 25 November and 4 December, and we will also begin action short of a strike including working strictly to contract, not covering for absent colleagues and refusing to reschedule lectures lost to strike action.
For further information see:
Or download all of that information in one handy document!
We have also produced slides containing information for students about the strike.
We recommend this guidance for autistic workers and UCU branches on strike action.
Hardship Fund
Cardiff UCU Branch has established a local fund to help those suffering particular financial hardship due to loss of pay arising from the 2019 UCU industrial action – find out more about the fund and how to apply.
Strike Event Schedule
On strike days, picketing will be taking place at multiple locations from 8am, and we will come together for a rally at 11am. There will be teach-outs in the afternoons in the Cathays Community Centre on Cathays Terrace.
