Branch working groups and the executive committee are actively campaigning on a wide range of issues relevant to our members. At October 2024, some of these include: challenging excessive workloads as a Health and Safety issue; negotiating to end the use of contracts ‘with relevant factors’ (de facto fixed term contracts); calling for the reinstatement of SOCSI Graduate Tutor roles; campaiging for a more equitable promotions process (including promotion and progression pathways for academic-related and professional services staff).
