We have a set of slides with information for students (as a PowerPoint which includes notes pages with explanation, and also in a PDF version). We suggest UCU members explain the strike action to their students in lectures and seminars. This helps to encourage student support for striking staff.

We strongly advise members whose lectures or seminars are being recorded using Panopto to start Panopto recording after they have explained to students what is happening about the strike, or stop (not pause) Panopto recording while you explain. This is because there is a risk senior management may use keyword searches of Panopto recording transcripts to locate members who will be engaging in strike action and thus implement measures to reduce the impact.

Remember: individuals are not legally required to inform management we will be taking strike action.
